Class Descriptions and FeesCartooning Class Our class examines shape and gestural drawing as a guide to this introduction to sketching approach using these enjoyable characters. Please bring 2- #2 pencils with erasers, 15 sheets of copy paper, folder with pockets & a small box of crayons. Cost~ $10.00/each class, for 4 weeks. Ages 9 & up. Materials Fee: $2.00 for handouts. Wednesdays:10:30-11:15 June 4, 11, 18 & 25. Pastel Class Student will learn the foundations of pastel drawing. The elements of composition and design will be explored. Students will be responsible to bring a set of 24- color soft chalk pastels, a pad of white pastel paper, newspapers, a pencil, a folder for handouts and small rags to class. Cost~ $10.00/each class, for 4 weeks. Ages 9 & up. Materials fee of $10, which includes blending instruments, brushes, handouts and colored pastel paper. Wednesdays: 11:30-12:30. June 4, 11, 18 & 25. Clay Sculpture/Pottery Participants will learn to create 3-dimensional clay projects, learn different glazing techniques, and will learn how an electric kiln works. Throughout the class, we will take a closer look at the clay- shaping process as a metaphor as to how God is our Master Potter and we are the clay in His hands as He molds & shapes us into the likeness of His Son. Please bring pencil, notebook & folder for handouts. Wednesdays 1:30-2:30, ages 8-12. / Ages 13-17, 3-4:30. Cost~ $10.00/each class, for 4 weeks. Materials/kiln Fee: $25.00 June 4, 11, 18 & 25. Pending Classes
Intro. to Calligraphy
Students will learn to work with pen & ink lettering.
Ages 11-16.
Cost~ $10 each class, for 6 weeks. Materials fee: $10.
Girl's Dinnerware Pottery Class
These young ladies work on dishes they wish to use for their families someday. Some make special birthday plates/mugs for days of celebration in their current families.
Ages 10-16.
Cost~ $10 each class, for 6 weeks.
Kiln fee: $15. Plus cost of chosen dishware. Usually between ($10-25.00.)
Barrel Fired Pottery
Our class studies the many stages our vessels must undergo; sculpting, priming and burnishing.
As we examine the metaphor of God's creative work in us, transforming & refining us into the likeness of His Son, we create our own vessels, representing ourselves. (2 Cor. 3:18) On a designated evening, the students & their families gather around the fire and witness the transformation of their pieces. Colorful patterns result in this wonderful refining process.
Cost~ $10.00/each class, for 6 weeks. Materials & kiln fee: $30.00

Art Workshop
This 4 week class will explore a different art medium each week including: collage, mosaics, paper batik & antquing ceramic figurines.
Cost~ $10 each class, for 4 weeks. Ages 8-14. Materials fee: $15.
Acrylic Painting
Students will will the basics of composition & the characteristics of acrylic paint. Participants are responsible for all supplies; brushes, paint & canvas.
Cost~ $10 each class, for 4 weeks. Ages 10-16.
Held at the Classic Cup Coffee Shoppe, located 5 mins from our studio.
The Fundamentals of Painting
Students will learn basics of acrylic paint and how light hits objects, giving the illusion of volume & 3-dimensions. We will begin with using monochromatic color and gradually introduce more color. The class will learn the basics of still life & landscape design elements.
Students are responsible for purchasing a set of acrylic paint, brushes & 2- 8 x 10 & 2- 11 x 14 canvases.
Cost~ $10.00/each class, for 6 weeks. Ages 10-17 Materials Fee: $5.00 for handouts.

Participants will learn to create 3-dimensional clay projects, learn different glazing techniques, and will learn how an electric kiln works.
Throughout the class, we will take a closer look at the clay- shaping process as a metaphor as to how God is our Master Potter and we are the clay in His hands as He molds & shapes us into the likeness of His Son.

An opportunity for “we Moms” to experiment with the clay and share a time of fellowship. Each week, in addition to making vessels, we will also study God as our Potter and look at how trials in our lives can strengthen & grow us into the likeness of Jesus. One of the projects we will be providing is a study called, "Who we are in Christ", making clay masks.
Cost~ $10.00/each class Materials & kiln fee: $25.00
Fridays 7- 8:30 pm
"Exploring Art Media" for Special Needs Children
This class has an 'art as therapy' focus & will utilize different art materials for kids to learn the basic elements of art as well as to increase fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, problem solving, cooperation skills and more. Some of the materials we will use will be clay, paint & collage to aid in achieving these goals.
Cost~ $10.00/each class/for 6 weeks. Materials & kiln Fee: $25.00

- Examine a famous American artist who exhibits our weekly concept (ie: value, contrast, contour, etc.)
- Guided drawing time
- 1:1 time with the teacher to critique homework.
